I sing because I believe in the power of music; the power to evoke memory, to communicate, to join others, to connect, to impart our humanity, to bring joy as well as evoke sorrow or loss as well. Music has the ability to evoke the wide spectrum of human emotions in the listener. I sing to impart the powerful and lasting effect music has had on me personally. I see music as a gift to whomever is open to receiving it. I have continued to sing largely because I see it as a manifestation of generosity to others and the reaffirmation of life itself. I try to sing with this spirit of generosity and affirmation.

The study of French Language, Art and Culture has drawn me to French repertoire in particular where my focus remains. The relationship between Literature and the Art Song Repertoire is something I find endlessly fascinating and inspiring.
